# Scheduling a Twitter Thread via Circleboom Publish

When 280 characters are not enough to express your thoughts on Twitter, you can prepare a Twitter thread, where you create individual tweets and bind them together. 

To schedule a Twitter thread, you can use Circleboom Publish's specialized publish tool for Twitter threads: **Create Twitter Specific Post or Thread**. 

#### Step 1:  Choose the post type you need 
  
Log in to your Circleboom Publish account, and on the Dashboard, you will be offered two ways to schedule your Twitter posts. You can either create an individual Twitter post or "Create Twitter Specific Post or Thread." If you need more than a tweet to express yourself, you will use the latter.

#### Step 2: Choose your Twitter account

On the next page, you need to choose a Twitter account among your connected accounts.

#### Step 3: Input your content and create your Twitter Thread 

You can start writing your thread from the first tweet, and once you are ready to move to the next tweet of the thread, you can add more tweets and make your Twitter thread by clicking on the 'Plus' (+) sign at the bottom right of the text board.

If you are not happy with the content you created, you can delete all tweets in the thread through the 
*Delete this post* button. You can also save it as a draft and keep working on it later.

#### Step 4: Schedule your Thread once you are ready

When you finish making and designing your Twitter thread, you share it immediately with your Twitter circle.

Also, you can schedule it for a future time. On Circleboom, you can also automate your Twitter posts. The queue scheduling feature allows you to establish time intervals and continuously send your threads and regular posts.

# Why does my GMB account get disconnected?

Google My Business accounts may be occasionally disconnected from your Circleboom Publish account, and you will need to reconnect your account in these instances. As put on Google's [developer page](https://developers.google.com/identity/protocols/oauth2#expiration), it can occur due to several reasons:&#x20;

* You may have revoked your app's access.
* The refresh token has not been used for six months.
* You changed passwords and the refresh token contains Gmail scopes.
* Your account has exceeded a maximum number of granted (live) refresh tokens.
* You belong to a Google Cloud Platform organization that has session control policies in effect.

### How to use the Discover Articles feature

**Step 1:** Find “Discover Articles” on the left-hand menu and click it to open the Circleboom Article Curator.

**Step 2:** Select the “Manage Your Interests” option to set your interest topics. There is no limit in defining your interests in Circleboom Publish, but adding a couple of interest areas would lead to more results in Discover Articles.

**Step 3**: First of all, select your desired language for the curation of articles.&#x20;

Please make sure that you add keywords written in your chosen language. To select your interest areas, you can either use the interest template on the right-hand side or type your topics on the search bar.

When you are done, click on **Save your interests** and you will be directed to Discover Articles for search results.

### Publish articles in a few seconds

For those who want to create more engagement by publishing on your interest areas regularly, the Discover Articles feature is the right address for you.

Once you set your interests, you can browse through the trending articles in your interest areas and choose your favorites to post on your Twitter account.

**Step 4**: To select an article, click the small box on the right corner of the articles. As you complete your selection, click “Add selected articles to queue” on the blue pop-up.

**Step 5:** Select the social media accounts you want to post the articles. You can add them to your queue, schedule them for a specific time, or publish them immediately.

### Avoid certain keywords&#x20;

Your selected interest areas represent the sum of keywords that are related to that topic. Yet, we are aware of the fact that there could be some sub-components of your interest area that is not relevant for you. In these cases, you can simply disregard search results with one click.

Let's assume that you want to discover articles on energy, but you are not interested in receiving updates on the oil. To exclude results associated with oil, you can move your cursor over it, and click on **Avoid this topic**.&#x20;

# How to add mentions in your posts

You can tag/mention Facebook pages, Twitter and Instagram profiles while posting through Circleboom Publish.

Due to platforms' technical limitations, you cannot mention Facebook profiles and groups, Linkedin profiles when you schedule your posts via Circleboom Publish.

### **Tagging Facebook Pages**

To mention Facebook pages on your scheduled posts, you can start typing with **@** symbol and then the name of the Facebook page that you want to tag. After typing the first characters, we will also show you some matching results, and there you can select the page to be mentioned.

For better matching results, we advise you to search with the username of Facebook pages, as there might be multiple pages with the same name. You can find the usernames of Facebook pages when you look at their URL, like facebook.com/**circleboomcom**

### Mentioning on Twitter

To tag some accounts on Twitter, you can type **@** symbol and Twitter handle of the account that you would like to mention. In the post preview appearing on the right side, you will notice that a hyperlinked text will appear and you can visit that account by clicking on it.

### &#x20;Instagram mentions

You can mention Instagram profiles on your IG posts by typing @ symbol and their username, in a similar manner with Twitter and Facebook.&#x20;

Due to API limitations on Instagram, we cannot suggest you the list of accounts matching with your search; however, it will be enough to type full name starting with @ to hyperlink that account.

### LinkedIn Company Page Mentions

You can mention LinkedIn company mentions on your LinkedIn posts by typing @symbol and the company name.


# How to Convert Instagram Professional Creator Account to Professional Business Account

Since Instagram API allows scheduling services only for Professional Business accounts, you are kindly asked to convert to your Instagram account. This can be easily done with a few clicks on Instagram and you can always go back to a personal or creator account later.

Professional Creator accounts cannot be connected to Circleboom Publish due to Instagram´s own technical limitations. Therefore, please make sure that you select the **Professional Business** category.

If the Creator option is selected, you can't schedule your posts via Circleboom or any other third-party app.

If you still prefer to define yourself as a creator on Instagram rather than a business, don´t worry! When you switch from Professional Creator to the Professional Business account type on Instagram, you can still choose the "creator" subcategory under the Professional Business account.

# Check Your Scheduled and Sent Items on Outbox

On **Outbox,** you can find, delete and edit all the items you've sent through our Schedule and Articles modules. You can also:

* filter posts by date or week of the current month
* filter your posts according to the social media platform you post on.
* filter your posts according to the social media accounts you post.

During the deletion process, if you have filtered by social media account, only posts belonging to the filtered accounts will be deleted.

The Outbox menu should look like below, and all sent items will be moved to `Sent Items` (second tab of the page).

# Posting Limits at a Glance

To prevent spammy posting behavior, each social network establishes its own guidelines regarding the amount of content you can post. For example, Facebook recommends posting up to five times a day, but the upper limit is 25 posts per day to avoid negatively impacting the reach of your content. 

We have implemented posting limits that adhere to these network-specific guidelines, as shown in the table below. These limits do not affect the number of posts you can store in your queue at any one time.

In addition to the below-listed limits, some platforms may enforce user-based limits. All these limits we posted below are generic limits announced by platforms, and they don't show any user-specific limits they might (not) enforce.

# Design Your Images on Circleboom Design Tool

If you use Unsplash, Giphy and/or Canva APIs, we have some good news for you. Circleboom Publish has the built-in versions of these tools to make it easier for you to create and edit your posts.

**Step 1**:  Visit `Create New Posts`dashboard on Circleboom Publish and choose the social accounts that you are planning to send your post. Then, click on `Design on Canva` to access the built-in Canva app.&#x20;

Each social platform has its own recommended image size, and you will be asked to choose a Canva Design Type for the best quality.

**Step 2:** You will be directed to the login page of Canva. If you already have an account there, you can simply log in, or you can create an account within seconds.&#x20;

##  I can't see all my Facebook and Instagram pages; what should I do?

If you’re unable to view all your Facebook pages, groups or Instagram business accounts, you can grant permission for them in your Facebook settings under Business Integration.

## How to tag a Company Page on LinkedIn Posts

To mention a Company Page on LinkedIn, type @ and then write the username of the targeted LinkedIn Company Page. The most crucial point here is that tagging a Company page differs from using hashtags. For example, if you want to tag a Company page, first type @. Then enter the company's username and select it from the list as it is shown in the example below:

If you try to use the URL of the company page with @, it won’t work. You will see different results like this:

Also, using hashtags (#) with usernames or URLs won’t work like tagging. If you use the username of a company with hashtags (#), it doesn’t send notifications to this company and its followers. Only people who follow that hashtag will see your post. But if you tag this company page, the company and its followers will be notified when you publish your post.

# Scheduling Tweet Rules

Twitter has taken additional action to keep Twitter free from spam. Specifically, they have introduced new rules around automation and the use of multiple accounts. We strongly recommend our users relying on Twitter policies regarding spamming and identical posting.

Spam has been an issue on Twitter for a long time, and you might recognize this common type of spam:

> A single account posting identical (or almost identical) tweets.

The Twitter Rules prohibit posting duplicative or substantially similar content — both on one account and across multiple accounts. **Twitter might suspend your account if you fail to comply.**

With the current [Twitter rules](https://blog.twitter.com/developer/en\_us/topics/tips/2018/automation-and-the-use-of-multiple-accounts.html), it would be best to avoid tweeting the same content. We would recommend modifying the text or multimedia whenever you want to re-use your top content.

# Why my profile picture is not shown?

We use platform-provided profile picture URLs on our tools. These platform-provided picture URLs expire when you update your picture on the platform, or get outdated based on some other reason.&#x20;

To update your profile picture, please visit your [Manage Social Media Accounts](https://publish.circleboom.com/settings/manage-accounts) page under Settings, and click on the Refresh Icon located on the upper right corner of the account listed on that page. This will get your recent profile picture from the social platform.

# Do you support personal Instagram accounts?

Instagram offers three account types in total for personal and professional users (business and creator profiles).&#x20;

Instagram currently prioritizes supporting the posting services for business accounts, and due to API limitations of Instagram, we cannot post on personal and creator accounts.&#x20;

# Why are images for my posts on Google My Business missing?

As opposed to other social platforms, GMB does not show images for your shared links, unless you explicitly add your images for the post.

When scheduling your posts for GMB, you will need to add an image to your post and otherwise, your content will be posted without any image. This is a restriction of GMB and link previews are not shown unless you add an image to your posts.

# What happens when an RSS feed is broken?

Our systems try to fetch the latest feed data from corresponding servers regularly. When a server gives an error we keep trying it 2 more times until we suspend the feed for 6 hours.

After 6 hours, our systems re-check the feed if it is working or not. If it works, we keep pulling data from it, and send posts based on the feed rules. If it fails again, we suspend the feed for another 6 hours before giving it a try.

## How to Connect Your Personal LinkedIn Profile&#x20;

**Step 1**: Log in to Circleboom Publish and click on **`Linkedin Profile`** to add your account.

**Step 2:** A pop-up will appear to direct you to LinkedIn in order to give permission to Circleboom and connect your account. There you need to click on "Sign in with LinkedIn", which will direct you to LinkedIn's authorization page.

**Step 3:** On the LinkedIn page directed from Circleboom Publish, log in to LinkedIn and click on **Allow** option shown below. This will grant us the necessary permissions to publish on your account.

Once we are authorized, you will be directed to Circleboom Publish and you will be ready to post on LinkedIn via Circleboom Publish.

## How to Connect a LinkedIn Page&#x20;

Adding a LinkedIn page to Circleboom is pretty similar to connecting a personal account, except for the fourth step where you chose your Linkedin page.&#x20;

On the landing page of Circleboom, you should start by clicking on `Linkedin` and follow the same steps described above. After granting us authorization, you will be asked to choose the LinkedIn Page that you want to connect to Circleboom.

Please click on the box next to your LinkedIn Page, and finalize your selection by pressing on **Add to Circleboom**.

# Can I connect my Instagram creator account to Circleboom Publish?

Instagram supports automated publish services only for Professional Business accounts. Since Instagram´s API does not allow us to post for a Creator account, unfortunately, you cannot connect a Creator account to Circleboom Publish.

Twitter has taken additional action to keep Twitter free from spam. Specifically, they have introduced new rules around automation and the use of multiple accounts.

In short, Spam has been an issue on Twitter for a long time, and you might recognize this common type of spam:

# Adding a Facebook Account to Circleboom Publish

You can only connect the Facebook pages and groups that you are managing to Circleboom Publish. [Facebook's privacy policies](https://www.facebook.com/policies_center) do not allow third-party applications to publish on personal accounts, and thus, personal accounts are not supported.

While you cannot schedule posts for your personal account on Facebook due to privacy policies, the app permissions to access Facebook pages and groups are granted through the personal accounts that control them.&#x20;

In order to add your Facebook groups and pages to Circleboom, please make sure that your account has a page/group role as an admin or editor on that page/group.

* Login [Circleboom Publish](https://publish.circleboom.com/) and you will be directed to the"Home" page.&#x20;
  * If you are already logged in, you can also click on "Settings" on the left-hand menu, where you can find the "Manage Social Media Accounts" section.&#x20;
* Click on "Facebook Page" as shown below.

* A pop-up will appear to direct you to Facebook to give permission to Circleboom and connect your account. There you have to "Sign in with Facebook", which will direct you to Facebook's authorization page.

* In a new pop-up, all pages that you can connect to Circleboom will be shown to you. You need to click on the checkmark for the pages that you want to add to Circleboom and press the "Add to Circleboom" button.

* When you successfully add your Facebook Pages, they will be shown among your social media accounts. On the right-upper-hand side, you can also see a notification saying, "Account has been added successfully". ## Connecting a Facebook Group to Circleboom Publish

To manage your group on Circleboom, you must be a group admin.

As you can also follow on Facebook's [help page](https://www.facebook.com/help/261149227954100), connecting a Facebook group is slightly different from the pages but can be done just within a few seconds.&#x20;

* First, click on Facebook Group on "Home" at Circleboom.
* A pop-up will appear to direct you to Facebook to give permission to Circleboom and connect your account. If this is the first time that you sign in with that account to Circleboom, you will be directed to Facebook's authorization page.
* In a new pop-up on Circleboom, all groups that you can connect to Circleboom will be shown to you, and those you cannot add will be grayed out.&#x20;
* If you have already added the Circleboom app to your Facebook, it is enough to click on the checkmark for the groups that you want to add to Circleboom and press the "Add to Circleboom" button. If not, you should first click on "Add Circleboom as an App" and manage your group apps on Facebook.

* On your Facebook homepage, click **Groups** in the left menu and select your group. If **Groups** are not visible to you at first glance,  click **See More**.
* Click **Settings** in the left menu.

# Schedule Your Posts using Circleboom Publish

**Step 1:** Log in to [Circleboom Publish](https://publish.circleboom.com).

If you don’t have a Circleboom account yet, sign-up will take no more than a minute.

**Step 2:** Make sure that your social accounts that you want to schedule posts are connected to Circleboom. If you haven't connected them yet, you can follow our [guideline](/publish/getting-started/connecting-your-social-accounts) on adding your accounts to Circleboom Publish.&#x20;

**Step 3**: Find “Create New post” on the left-hand menu and open the post scheduler.

On the Create New Post dashboard, you can schedule your posts for multiple social accounts from different platforms.

**Step 4**: On the Create New Post dashboard, select your social accounts that you want to post.

To make things easier for the next time, you can also create a sub-group with a selection of your social media accounts to manage them in one place.

**Step 5**: After you select the desired social media accounts, you can start creating your post.

**Step 6**: Once your post is ready, you have three different options. You can instantly post your tweet, schedule it for a future date or add it to your posting queue for Twitter. If you want to post your tweet directly, click “Post” under the preview.

With the Schedule option, you can decide when the posts should be sent from your accounts. What you need to do is just to click on `Schedule it` and select the date and time you want. By clicking on  `Schedule it` button below, you can finalize your post.

# Time Zone and Queue Settings

### Changing your Time Zone

By default, the time zone of your browser will be assigned as your time zone for each account you connect with Circleboom.

For each social account that you added to Circleboom, you can adjust your time zone and queue settings under [**Time Settings**](https://publish.circleboom.com/settings/queue-schedule-settings)**,** which can be accessed through the **Settings** menu.

First, you will be asked to choose for which connected social account that you want to make changes. Once you click on the account you would like to edit time zone and queue settings, the settings screen will be shown on the right-hand side column.

There you can search/choose from the dropdown menu to set your time zone. Once you are done, you can click on the **Save queue settings** button to switch your time zone for the given account.

If you have more than one social account that you need to adjust their time zone, you should change the settings for each account. Setting account-specific time zones will help you to post things on time for your audience. 

For instance, it would be a good idea to set your new year's messages for different time zones if your company have multiple branches around the globe and have followers in multiple cities around the world. This will ensure that your messages are delivered at the appropriate time for each time zone, rather than all at once or at an inconvenient time for some of your followers.

### Queue Settings

Our Queue system is designed for simple everyday workflows with usability in mind.

#### Basic Model

In the Basic model, when you set your "Start Time" and "End Time" for your Queued posts, we put your queued items starting exactly at your start time and finish it at the end time. If you have more items than maximum posts calculated dynamically based on your Interval settings, we will put them to the next day's same period. We post them when they are due in your selected timezone.

When you add the start and end date of your daily posting time and as  well as time interval that you want us to post, your queued posts will be shared on regular basis.&#x20;

We keep in mind your daily posting limits, when we show the time intervals for queue settings.

For instance, if you have free-tier subscription and would like to queue your posts between 10.00 AM and 5.00 PM, you can only choose 1 hour interval or longer periods. This is because more frequent posting (i.e. every 30 minutes) would hit your daily posting limit, which is 10 posts per account for freemium users.

#### Advanced Model

Advanced Queue system allows you to create complex posting schedules for each social media account. We put each queued post to the first available time-slots you set here. We post them when they are due in your selected timezone.

For each social account, you can add special times to post your content. If you need to post with varying frequency and different times, this is the right model for you. What you need to do is just to choose the suitable times and hit **Add Posting Time**. Once your queuing schedule is finalized, you need to click on **Save queue settings**.

Please remember this would save your queue settings only for one social account. You can repeat the process for another account, and choose a special plan with Advanced model.

# Media Limitations for Social Platforms

**Step 1**: On your IG account page, click on "Edit Profile".

**Step 2**: At the bottom of the left-hand menu, you will find the "Switch to Professional" option and click on it.

* Login Circleboom Publish and you will be directed to the "Home" page.&#x20;
  * If you are already logged in, you can also click on "Settings" on the left-hand menu, where you can find the "Manage Social Media Accounts" section.&#x20;

# Why do Facebook video posts take time before getting published?

Each video you post to FB is processed by the Facebook servers. Usually, it takes 20+ minutes to publish a 10Mb video.

## Step 1: Convert your Instagram Account to Business Professional Account

As you may know, Instagram has three account types called personal, creator and business. In order to manage your Instagram account on Circleboom Publish, you are required to have a business profile.

## Step 2: Connecting your Instagram Business Account to a Facebook Page

Before adding your IG account, there is another step to take. Due to the integrated system of Facebook and Instagram, it is necessary to connect your Instagram business profile with a Facebook Page, even if you are not planning to post for that FB page via Circleboom.

If your Instagram business account is not connected to any Facebook page, we kindly ask you to do it as explained in our help article.

## Step 3: Adding your IG account to Circleboom Publish

As explained above, before connecting Circleboom Publish with your IG account, you should have already:

* &#x20; Converted your IG account to a business profile,
* &#x20; Connected your IG account to a Facebook Page.

Like any other social media account, you can start adding your IG account on the landing page of Circleboom Publish.

1. When you click on **Instagram** on the page shown above, a pop-up will appear to direct you to **Authenticate with Facebook**, which will help you to connect your Instagram account.

Facebook requires Instagram business accounts to be connected to a Facebook Page. For Circleboom to work as intended, we need to authenticate through Facebook.

&#x20;   2\. After granting the app permission to Circleboom, you will be able to choose the IG account that you want to add (See the picture below). Click on **Add to Circleboom** after making your selection, and your account will be connected.

If the Instagram account that you want to add to Circleboom does not appear on the list, please check whether your IG account is converted to the business professional, and successfully connected to a Facebook Page.

To add your Instagram account to Circleboom Publish, you are required to have an Instagram Business profile. Then you can easily add your Instagram account to the dashboard.

# Can I add hashtags and mentions to RSS Tweets

1. Twitter has serious policies and rules in place to keep manipulation around a subject or a person as minimum as possible. To achieve that, they don’t allow automated hashtags. Manually adding hashtags to Tweets is a common practice and can do no harm, while automated ones may be used for manipulation. More information can be read [here on Twitter's blog](https://blog.twitter.com/developer/en\_us/topics/tips/2018/automation-and-the-use-of-multiple-accounts.html).
2. If some hashtags are included in the feed source, that might not be a problem unless it repeats the same hashtags in every post. From a blog writer's standpoint, we think they use different hashtags on each post, and that’d be ok.
3. We do support most of the feed specs out there, as explained [here](rss-feed-sample). If any website including Google tools providing a native feed, we can parse and use it.

## How to Connect Your Google Business Profile Account

**Step 1:** Log in to [Circleboom Publish](https://publish.circleboom.com/) and click `Google Business Profile` on the landing page.

**Step 3:**  Log in to your Google account associated with your Google Business Profile page, and **click on the last box to give authorization to "See, edit, create and delete your Google business listings".**

**Step 2:** Click on **Add an RSS Feed Now** on the new page. If you had some other RSS feeds connected to social accounts via Circleboom, it would also be shown there.

**Step 3**: Select the social accounts that you want to connect with the RSS feed.

**Step 4**: Create your own RSS feed collection recipe. When you write down the RSS Feed URL, we will immediately check it and inform you whether it is valid or not. You can also add a text to start or end with, adjust the frequency of checking the feed and max posts per update.

**Step 5**: Once you adjusted the settings as you desired, click on +**Add an RSS Feed.** From now on, we will take care of the rest and keep posting from the feed.

# Troubleshooting failed Instagram posts and connection problems


There might be a couple of reasons why your Instagram posts scheduled by Circleboom Publish fail. Please review the possibilities explained below carefully.
### Troubleshooting Instagram account connection problems

#### Wrong Account Type

The most common problem is that your Instagram account type is not suitable for automated posting services, due to Instagram API limitations.

Instagram offers two professional accounts; business accounts and creator accounts. If your account is an ‘Instagram Professional Creator account’ or ‘Instagram Personal account,’ you have to switch it to an ‘Instagram Professional Business account.’ And then reconnect your Instagram account to your Facebook page. #### Circleboom Authorization in Facebook Business Integrations

Another common problem for failed Instagram posts occurs when you remove Circleboom App authorization in Facebook Business Integrations.

To check if you authorized Circleboom as business integration, please log in to your Facebook account and click on **Settings & privacy > Settings** on the upper-right corner of the page.

On the left bar, you need to find **Business Integrations** and click on it. Please make sure that Circleboom is listed among your active business integration.&#x20;

Please click on **View and Edit** button, and make sure that all sections are selected before saving your settings.&#x20;

If you did not authorize the Circleboom app in Facebook Business Integrations yet, you can use **Search business integration** bar and add Circleboom to your active business integrations.

#### App Authorization only for selected Instagram accounts

Your Circleboom authorization might be given for only selected Instagram accounts, and you need to check if all your accounts are selected on Meta's authorization page.

Please click on the edit button and make sure that all accounts (or at least the ones you want to manage on Circleboom) are selected.

#### Provide additional settings required by Instagram

If you recently changed some of your Instagram settings, including account type, Meta might ask you to check for additional settings.

1. After logging in to your Facebook account, visit https://business.facebook.com/latest/settings/
2. Click ‘’business assets’' and find your Instagram account on the list.

3. If you have such an alert as shown in the above-shared screen, you have to log in to your Instagram from your browser to complete your connection.

#### Review your account connection between Instagram and Facebook

If you changed your personal profile to a business account, you need to connect it to a Facebook page to be able to use scheduling services, even if you are not planning to post for the Facebook page.

Each time you switch from a personal profile to a professional one, you need to review your account connection to make sure that your Instagram business account is associated with a Facebook page.

* Log in to the same Facebook account you previously connected to your Instagram account.
* Add your Facebook Page connected to your Instagram Account to Circleboom Publish first. After adding your Facebook page, try adding your Instagram account again.

# Why some of my social accounts are grayed out when I try to connect them to Circleboom?

When your social account that you want to connect to Circleboom Publish appears as unavailable and grayed out, it is very likely that you are not an admin or editor of that page. If that is the case, we remind you that you need more authorization on that page/group than you already have to manage it (This problem usually happens for Facebook and Instagram accounts).

### Previously connected social accounts

Each social account can be connected to only one Circleboom account. This means that if your social media account had been connected to another Circleboom Publish account before (either your old CB account,  your former team member's account etc.), you cannot connect it directly.

What you first need to do is to remove your social account's access from the other account. Once it is removed, you can connect your social account to your Circleboom Publish account.&#x20;

### What if you can't access your old Circleboom account?

In case that you cannot remove your social account from its previously connected Circleboom Publish account, feel free to send an e-mail to support@circleboom.com detailing your account information and our support team will help you as soon as possible.

### Choose the right plan

The number of social media accounts you can connect to Circleboom Publish depends on the plan you're subscribed to. While you can manage your accounts from the other four platforms in all plans, you will need a paid subscription for Instagram account management. Circleboom offers several plans both for monthly and annual options.&#x20;

### Connect your accounts

When you signed up for Circleboom Publish and log in for the first time, we will direct you to connect your social accounts and give us permission. When the screen below appears on your browser, you can click on the type of account that you want to connect to Circleboom.

After you click on one of the options above, a pop-up button will come up, which contains a link to the social media platform as well as policy documents of Circleboom. The sign-in button will direct you to connect your accounts on the chosen platform and grant permission to Circleboom.

To make it clear, let's take a look at connecting your Twitter account. To manage your Twitter account on Circleboom, you can start connecting it with the "Sign in with Twitter" button.&#x20;

If you cannot see the pop-up above, please give it another try after disabling your AdBlocker and checking your pop-up settings. In rare instances, AdBlock extensions may prevent you to see this page.

The authentication process will be managed by Twitter's (or other platforms) authorization dialog, and you should click on "Authorize app" if you are connecting a new account to Circleboom. The app will be automatically connected to your Twitter account and you can now start enjoying Circleboom!

If you have more accounts to add, you can keep adding them either through the landing page of Circleboom Publish or via "Manage Social Media Accounts" under "Settings".&#x20;

# How can I convert my Pinterest account to a business profile?

You can still connect your personal Pinterest account to Circleboom Publish without business conversion. Pinterest advises converting your account type to business in its technical documentation, and it might be compulsory to be able to post through scheduling apps in the future.

To convert your Pinterest account to a business profile, please follow these steps:

**Step 1**: Go to Pinterest's website and log in to your account.

**Step 2**: Click on your profile picture in the top right corner of the screen, and then click on "settings" in the dropdown menu.

**Step 3**: Click on the "Convert to Business" button in the settings menu.

**Step 4:** You will be shown a prompt detailing the advantages of the free Business account, please continue by clicking on the "Upgrade" button.

# How to add alt-text to images while posting

You may want to add some clarifications to the images that you use in scheduled posts, or you may want to make the posts more accessible for visually impaired followers. 

Adding image descriptions, also known as alt-text, is pretty straightforward while you schedule your posts via Circleboom.

**Step 1:** Go to Circleboom Publish, log in to your account, and click on  "Create New Post."

**Step 2:** Select the social media accounts for which you want to schedule image posts with alt-text.

**Step 3:** Upload images or choose from Unsplash or Canva after choosing your account.

**Step 4:** Once uploading your images, check the "preview" section and click on the book icon to create alt text for your post. 

Once your alt-text is ready, you can click on the *Save* button.

**Step 4**: You can enter your card details on the payment page supported by [our service provider Stripe](https://help.circleboom.com/common/getting-started/how-secure-are-circleboom-payment-pages). If you have a promotional coupon, you can add it here too.

**Step 5**: Success! Once the payment goes through Stripe's connect service, you'll be displayed a thank you page and a link to start using your shiny new Circleboom Publish plan.

# What happens when your social account lost connection and how to reconnect it

For several reasons, your social accounts' connection to Circleboom Publish might be lost. That may be caused by an update on your profile or changing your password. In addition, for your security, social networks provide us with authorization tokens that are only valid for a limited time. 

When your token (connection of your account) is expired, your scheduled and future posts and RSS feeds may not be posted on your account as expected.  This is because your requests are rejected by social media platforms when the token expires.

When connection lost, it is important to reconnect your account to keep your scheduled items posted. Reactivation of your token takes only a few seconds and can be managed through your account settings.&#x20;

### How can one notice the lost connection?

Once Circleboom Publish cannot connect to your social accounts, your scheduled and future posts and RSS feeds will fail as you should give us permission to post on your behalf again.

Under[`Outbox & Sent Items`](https://publish.circleboom.com/outbox) of your Circleboom Publish account, a tab for `Failed Items`exists, and your scheduled but failed posts will be shown there. On this screen, you can delete your failed items or retry to post them, after reconnecting your account.

### How to reconnect your social account and repost your failed posts

**Step 1**: Log in to Circleboom Publish and go to [`Settings`](https://publish.circleboom.com/settings/manage-accounts) using the left-hand menu.

**Step 2**: Your account whose token is expired will be shown within a red box, and there you can see the "Connection Lost" warning. Click on `Reconnect` button next to it, and you will be directed to the authorization page of the social platform.&#x20;

Once you reconnect your connection, you will be directed back to Circleboom Publish.

**Step 3**: Visit [`Outbox & Sent Items`](https://publish.circleboom.com/outbox) and repost your failed items, listed under `Failed Items`.

# Adding a Pinterest Account

By connecting your Pinterest account to Circleboom Publish, you can schedule and queue the posts that you want to share on Pinterest, and manage multiple accounts at one place.

## How to Connect Your Pinterest Profile

**Step 1**: Log in to Circleboom Publish and click on **`Pinterest`** to add your account.

**Step 2**: A pop-up will appear to direct you to Pinterst in order to give permission to Circleboom and connect your account. There you need to click on "Sign in with Pinterest", which will direct you to Pinterest's authorization page.

Step 3: On the Pinterest page directed from Circleboom Publish, log in to your Pinterest account and click on `Give Access`. This will grant us the necessary app permissions to publish on your account.

Once we are authorized, you will be directed to Circleboom Publish and you will be ready to post on Pinterest via Circleboom Publish.

# Can I post duplicate content?

In short, Circleboom does not recommend its users to post duplicate content, especially on LinkedIn or Facebook. Such actions may end up with removing Circleboom's access token to your account and even the suspension of your social account.

To check if your post is duplicate content or not, we look for all your posts within the last seven days. If the platform rules strictly prohibit duplicate content, as in the case of Facebook and LinkedIn, scheduled posts with duplicate content will fail.

Google generally doesn't penalize for duplicate content across social media platforms. While it's true that Google prefers unique content, the way it handles duplicate content on social media is different from how it handles it on websites.

Social media platforms are designed for sharing and reposting. This is a core feature of these platforms, and Google understands that.
Social media signals are used to understand user intent and engagement. Google uses factors like likes, shares, and comments to determine the quality and relevance of content, even if it's shared multiple times.

# Why I can’t refresh my Instagram - Facebook connections? My account connection lost

To be able to post on Instagram accounts, you need to have a business Instagram account and connect it to a Facebook page. If the connection between your Instagram and Facebook account is lost, you need to reconnect them.\
\
When there is something wrong with your account connections and/or you don't have a **Professional Business** Instagram account, you will be getting the following notification screen:

`It appears you don't have any Instagram accounts connected to your Facebook Page or your Instagram account is not an Instagram Professional Business account.`

### How to refresh Instagram - Facebook connections

Please log into the same Facebook account you previously connected to your Instagram account.

* Add your Facebook Page connected to your Instagram Account to Circleboom Publish first. After adding your Facebook page, try adding your Instagram account again.

# Why did social accounts' access tokens expire?

From time to time, your social media profiles may become disconnected. You may see a notification indicating that one or more of your profiles need to update their access token. While this can be frustrating, it is a normal part of keeping your accounts secure.

Your access token/authorization may become invalid due to several reasons, including but not limited to the following:

- Your social media account password has been changed, causing Circleboom to be unable to access your profile with the original credentials.
- Social media platforms may deactivate access tokens for routine security checks to ensure that you are not accidentally granting access to forgotten applications.
- The person who connected the social media account to Circleboom Publish may no longer have administrator access to the account, resulting in your profile being unable to manage the page.

## Twitter

Twitter does not typically require frequent reconnections due to its security policies, and therefore Twitter access tokens do not have specific expiration dates. Your Twitter account may become disconnected due to duplicate content or spammy behavior.

## Facebook and Instagram

Instagram and Facebook accounts generally require more attention, as Meta states that access tokens usually have a lifespan of around 60 days, even though this can vary. In addition to the time-specific expiration dates, access tokens may also expire due to publishing identical posts to multiple accounts at the same time, detecting multiple IP addresses logging into your account, or frequently logging in and out of different accounts.

## LinkedIn

LinkedIn access tokens must be reconnected every 60 days. In addition to the planned expiration of access tokens, you may also need to reconnect your LinkedIn profile if you are publishing identical posts to multiple LinkedIn accounts at the same time or if you no longer have admin access to the LinkedIn page.

# Connecting your Instagram Business Account to a Facebook Page

If you want to use Circleboom Publish or any third-party-app for your Instagram account management, Instagram requires you to:

1. Convert your IG account to a business profile

2. Connect your IG business account with a Facebook Page


If you already switched your account type, this is the final step to take before connecting your Circleboom account with Instagram.

1. On your Facebook homepage, click **Pages** in the left menu and select your page to be connected with your IG account.

2. Once you are on the page, click **Settings** in the left menu.

3. Select **Instagram** in the **Page Settings** menu.
4. Click on **Connect Account** and **Continue**.

&#x20;  5\. You will be directed to Instagram, where you will enter your credentials to log in. Once you logged in, your IG business account will be automatically connected to your Facebook Page.&#x20;

Finally, you are ready for Circlebooming with your IG account! You can safely add it to your Circleboom Publish account now, following the steps explained below.

# How can I see my Instagram account type?

To see your account type, please visit your Instagram app and go to your profile. Then, please click on the three horizontal lines on the upper-right corner (**≡**) and choose **Settings** in the new menu.

On the Settings, click on **Account** as shown below.

### If you have a personal account:

When you scroll down on the account page, you will have`Switch to professional account` option at the bottom of **Account settings**.

### If you have a professional (Business or Creator) account:

When you scroll down at **Account settings**, you will `Switch account type` option.

When you click on `Switch account type`, owners of **Instagram business account** will see the following options:

* Switch to Personal account
* Switch to Creator Account

If you have an **Instagram creator account**, you will see the following two options:

* Switch to Personal account
* Switch to Business Account

In case you have a Creator account, you have to convert your profile into a Business profile, as Instagram only supports automated posting for Professional Business accounts.
